Chris Corrigan writes a beautiful post using the analogy we all know so well: the chrysalis and the butterfly. He delves deeply into transformation and makes us think about it now.
Does a caterpillar know that one day it will become a butterfly?
We are all together in our own cocoons and it is dark and very scary for all of us. For once there is not one human being who is at risk, it is all of us. For me that is why my prayer cannot be other than for absolutely everyone. We are together utterly and yet alone completely.
Each day when I wake up, I trust anew and ask our beloved Creator for courage to face the uncertainty of our future collectively and alone. For now, when I open my eyes in the cocoon, I could just see darkness – or I could feel the warmth of our collective waiting, trusting and hope for all things being well and new. So then feeling is important. Feeling another’s fears and uncertainty, feel another’s needs. Feel compassion. Then act with kindness, concern and genuine assistance following a growing intuition inside the cocoon.
It is about us now.
“He will always hold us and pick us up and he will gather us from the dusty ground and love us into beauty.” Caron Van Wyk
